Home Share Living is committed to safeguarding the privacy of our householders, their relatives, our homesharers, website visitors, suppliers, employees and other third parties and to being transparent in how we collect and use your data in order to meet our data protection obligations. This policy sets out how we will treat your personal information when you contact us and use our services and when you visit www.homehareliving.co.uk (the “Site”). We collect the personal data of prospective householders and homesharers; matched householders and homesharers for ongoing support; relatives of householders and homesharers; prospective and current client contacts; supplier contacts who support our services; employees, consultants, coordinators and/or temporary workers in order to allow us to undertake our business.
We use different methods to collect data from and about you including through you (or someone on your behalf eg relatives, friends or referees) communicating with us by post, phone, email, in person or otherwise or using our website, filling in forms or by completing and submitting various forms through the Site.
Personal data may include but is not limited to name, address, date of birth, contact details including telephone number & email address and relatives details, images as well as an on-going record of communication and other information we gather as part of our relationship with you.
We may also process sensitive personal data for the purposes of matching and supporting homeshare arrangements. Sensitive personal data includes data relating to medical information, gender, nationality, religion, race or ethnic origin, political or other beliefs, physical or mental health, interests and preferences, genetic or biometric data, sexual orientation and criminal records and proceedings, credit ratings and ID documents including photo ID. It may also include information relating to your personal or public profile, skills, experience and education, e.g. your CV or resume, previous employments, educational details and qualifications and third-party references.
When you visit the Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse the Site, we collect information about the individual web pages that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to the Site, and information about how you interact with the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

Home Share Living introduces householders to homesharers for the purposes of establishing a homeshare arrangement and provides ongoing support for the duration of the homeshare. The exchange of personal data of our householders and homesharers is a fundamental and essential part of this process.
In order to support our services Home Share Living requires a database of householder and homesharer personal data containing historical information as well as current resourcing requirements. To accurately maintain, expand and develop our business, we need to record the personal data of prospective candidates and client contacts.
We use the Device Information that we collect to help us screen for potential risk, and more generally to improve and optimise our Site (for example, by generating analytics about how our customers browse and interact with the Site, and to assess the success of our marketing and advertising campaigns).
We will take reasonable technical and organisational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information. You acknowledge that data transmission over the internet is inherently insecure, and we cannot guarantee the security of data sent over the internet.
Once we have your personal information, it is stored on our online system (cloud based) which can only be securely accessed by employees and coordinators of Home Share Living. We may also gather information and statistics collectively about visitors to our website.

Home Share Living may transfer data to countries or international organisations outside of the European Economic Area (EEA). For example, to clients or to third parties who provide us with support services. We may keep some limited information for a longer time if we believe this is appropriate for historical, research or statistical purposes. Financial data will be retained as long as is required by the law.
We may retain some of your personal information as necessary for our legitimate business interests, such as fraud detection and prevention and enhancing safety.
