We have a wonderful new Homeshare opportunity in a gorgeous part of north west London for a female Sharer who would like to live affordably and comfortably in return for providing some practical help and companionship to an older lady.

This opportunity is situated in a quiet and pretty residential area known as Hampstead Garden Suburb, only 10 minutes’ walk to the shops and cafes on East Finchley High Road and to the tube station (Northern Line – 20 minutes into central London), and close to Hampstead Heath.

Accommodation on Offer: 

A newly refurbished loft bedroom with double bed and en-suite private shower room and toilet. A desk and chair will be provided. Some built in wardrobe space is available and the Wi-Fi is excellent in the home.  The house is very well maintained and has a garden.

What the Opportunity involves:

In return for the low-cost accommodation (£199 per month), we are looking to match a female Sharer to live with our lovely Homeowner who would benefit from a little practical support at home, some help with basic IT issues, occasional grocery shopping and mostly the reassurance of not being alone at night.

Our homeowner is an engaging, warm, and friendly lady in her late 80’s who has a lovely relationship with her family and all who come into contact with her. She spends most of her time at home now due to mobility issues and she is visually impaired. Her interests include playing bridge regularly with her friends at home and listening to books.

Our homeowner has a good support network around her including her cleaner of many years who comes regularly as well as additional and family support. She makes a simple evening meal for herself every day and enjoys her own company sometimes but would also benefit from some occasional evening companionship.

The ideal Sharer for this opportunity might be working partly from home (although this is not essential), pleasant, with a good sense of humour, kind and tidy. Happy to make our homeowner a cup of tea in the mornings and do a little light housework and tidying if needed. No personal care is permitted.

Cost: £199 per month

This is the monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay the rent to the homeowner. Bills are included although you may be asked to make a modest contribution towards heating due to rising costs, and towards council tax if you are working. (Full-time students are exempt).
