We are delighted to offer a new Homeshare opportunity for someone to live comfortably and affordably in a lovely part of North London, in return for providing some practical support and companionship to an older lady.

Available from: mid July 2023

Homeshare Location:

A 5-minute walk to the shops, cafes, and buzzy area of Muswell Hill, and 10 to 15 minute walk to East Finchley high street, and to the tube station (Northern Line).

Accommodation on Offer:

Bright and cosy room in a lovely house on a quiet, residential street. Single bed, wardrobe, desk, chair, and large window. Wi-Fi is available. Shared bathroom with bath, and separate shower and shared use of kitchen and garden.

What the Opportunity involves:

In return for the low-cost accommodation, (£199 per month), we are looking to match our Homeowner with a friendly female Sharer who is happy to provide some practical support, a little companionship and a reassuring presence at night. No personal care is permitted.

Our Homeowner is a bright and independent lady aged 90, enjoying a quiet life, mostly at home. She was a teacher during her career and worked in child psychology until she retired. She is no longer driving, and uses minicabs when she goes out, so if the Sharer is a driver with a car, that would be useful, but is not essential.

She is looking to share her home with someone who can provide a bit of practical support for example with basic IT, helping with simple tasks such as keeping the kitchen tidy, reaching for things that are difficult for her, putting the bins out, and some local grocery shopping. She is quite happy spending her days by herself, pottering about, reading the paper and watching a bit of television, so this opportunity would suit somebody who is working during the day. However having someone else in the home will also provide some peace of mind to our Homeowner and her family that she is not alone at night.

Cost: £199 per month

This is a monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay any rent to the homeowner. Bills are included although you may need to make a small contribution to the homeowner towards council tax if you are working, and possibly a small contribution towards energy bills.
