Homeshare Opportunity – Chelmsford, Essex

We have a lovely opportunity set in the countryside in a friendly community just outside Chelmsford, suited to someone who would like to live affordably and comfortably in return for providing some practical help and companionship to an older lady.

Homeshare Location:

Located only 15 minutes from Chelmsford Town centre and train station, and a couple of miles from local grocery stores. A driver is essential as there is limited public transport. A car is available.

Accommodation on Offer:

A large single room in a beautiful house with single bed, built-in wardrobe and desk, comfy chairs and open fire. Own bathroom which is used only occasionally by the homeowner who lives mainly downstairs. Shared use of the kitchen, living areas and beautiful large garden. Wifi is available.

What the Opportunity Involves:

In return for the low-cost accommodation (£199 per month), we are looking to match a kind and mature female Sharer who is  happy to provide around 10 hours each week of practical help mainly in the early evenings and some companionship.

Our homeowner is an engaging lady in her 90s who until recently had a busy and active life, and a professional career. She has regular daily support at home with housework and meal preparation, and close family and local neighbours visit her often.

In return for offering an affordable a lovely room in her home, our homeowner would hope to benefit from a bit of help and company from the Sharer between 5 – 7 pm on some midweek evenings and occasionally on a morning of the weekend, with preparing or heating up a simple meal, enjoying some interesting conversation together and maybe playing some cards.

Just having the reassurance of someone else in the home will bring peace of mind to the homeowner and her family, and it will be helpful to have a driver who can pop out for the odd groceries or to collect a prescription. No personal care is permitted.

Cost: £199 per month

This is the monthly facilitation fee for our matching and ongoing monitoring service. You do NOT pay the rent to the homeowner. Bills are included although you may be asked to make a small contribution towards heating due to rising costs, and towards council tax if you are working. (Full-time students are exempt).
